A motorcyclist was hit in Lafayette, LA by a distracted driver.
Although the truck crash looks pretty bad, the motorcycle driver Blake Comeaux survived. He said he woke up in the hospital with no memory of what happened or being in a truck accident. The truck that was in the accident was driven by a friend. Comeaux says the woman was texting while driving when she crashed into his motorcycle. There are many facts on texting and driving that reveal just how dangerous it is. Distracted driving is a leading cause of car accidents.
“I think it’s very important because a life could have been lost. Not only the fact that I was injured in the accident, but if she would have hit the school bus dead on, things could have been a lot worse,” Comeaux said. The motorcyclist sustained major injuries, breaking his pelvis and injuring his lower spine. He is unable to work due to his injuries. If he gets any kind of motorcycle crash settlement, he says he will put it towards a program to get people to put their phones down when driving.
