December 8th gave New Orleans, LA it’s first taste of snowy weather in a long time. Louisiana rarely sees super cold temps, much less snow.
Over 63 car accidents & truck accidents were reported in St. Tammany parish, which is close to New Orleans. The Louisiana State Police said only minor bodily injuries occurred, some were a result of chain reaction car crashes along the highway. The snow and ice from Friday’s low temperatures coated the roads on the interstate with slick ice, creating hazardous driving conditions.
Louisiana police said many of these auto accidents are the result of car drivers not slowing down and taking proper precautions in bad weather. Many drivers are careless in these types of weather conditions which can cause all kinds of car accidents.
